"How do we include students with severe/profound multiple physical and cognitive disabilities into regular age appropriate activities?" In collaboration with school teams and families throughout the Province of B.C., the Provincial Integration Support Program and B.C. Ministry of Education has created the following videos for instructional and motivational purposes. We thank all students, team members and families involved for their assistance in these projects. It can be downloaded for free from Microsoft's website, and is available for both PC and Mac computers.
To order the educational video and manual "Integration: Meeting the Challenge", contact Cherry Lozupone, P.I.S.P. Secretary, at clozupone@sd61.bc.ca. This resource includes a video demonstrating four students at the primary, intermediate and high school levels, working on their own skills within regular classroom and school settings. The video provides examples of students interacting with their peers as well as personal experiences from a principal, peers, teachers, therapists, and families about some of the challenges and celebrations of inclusion. It includes a manual with strategies and information to support the activities and ideas referred to in the video. This video/manual package provides an educational focus for a range of students with severe/profound multiple physical and cognitive disabilities.
